What is the process for a Guard Training student in the province of Ontario?

Our fully online training course is a government-mandated 40 hours of training. .

The Ontario Basic Security Training costs $99.95 and includes the full Guard Training course.

Please see the process break-down below, including exam costs and licensing fees in Ontario:

Step 1: Register for the online course and begin training.

Step 2: When you have completed the online course, you will also need to get a valid First Aid Certificate (which must come from a provider on the list HERE) You will also need to complete the Ontario Consent and Release Form (You can download this HERE).

Step 3: Fill out the form that you are directed to at the end of the course and submit your Ontario Consent and Release From and First Aid Certificate there as well.

Step 4: After we have received your documents we will provide you with a Testing Completion Number (TCN).

Step 5: You will then enter your TCN number on the Ontario Security Testing Website (Located HERE) in order to book your Provincial Exam. You will need to pay $60 to book the exam.

Step 6: To write your exam, the Ontario government uses the services of Serco DES Inc. to administer the testing. It is a computer exam with approximately 60 multiple-choice questions. Once the exam is complete, it takes a few days for you to receive the result.

Step 7: Once you have passed your exam you can begin your security license application. The Ontario Security License application is $80, and it will expire exactly 2 years from the date of your birthday.
